This is a lovely unusual shaped cut for a cluster ring. The central amethyst is a hexagonal cut and with a rich depth to the colour, this is held neatly in double white gold claws at each point. The amethyst is surrounded by modern brilliant cut diamonds, with the addition of the diamonds on the 6 points being slightly larger than the following 2 diamonds running alongside the edge of the amethyst. The entire setting for all of the stones is 18ct white gold and the shank of the ring is 18ct yellow gold.

12 +6 diamonds = 0.42 carat

This in turn is surrounded by a full row of calibre cut emeralds with a larger square cut emerald at 2,4,8 and 10. The larger square calibre gives that extra detail which helps to make this such an exquisite ring and typical of a ring made in the 1930s. All the settings are very fine millegrain. There are very fine diamond set shoulders with 2 eight cut diamonds set neatly in to the shoulders. The ring is stamped with the French Mascaron mark for Platinum which was only used between 1913 and 1926 Square emerald measures 3.9mm x 3.7mm x 1.9mm 4 Diamonds = 0.40ct approx. 4 Diamonds = 0.25ct approx.
